ICDN members form exclusive casting director jury at Venice Biennale International Film Festival

As a unique example, a jury composed entirely of casting directors will award the best actor/ actress prize for interpreters of Italian films in the Official Selection at the Venice Biennale International Film Festival. 

The jury is furthermore solely composed of ICDN members. Laura Muccino, Maurilio Mangano and Lilia Hartmann Trapani will judge the Italian films selected as part of the categories Competition, Out of Competition and Orizzonti. The chosen Best Actor or Best Actress will be announced on 11th September.

The RB Casting Award for the Best Acting Performance in Venice 78 aims to promote both the winning actor and the casting director profession and ICDN is very much pleased that the Venice Biennale has chosen to introduce an award that is chosen solely by casting directors in honour of their fundamental professional role in the composition of artistic film casts.
