Unwanted

A few years ago, my friend director and producer Cristiano Bortone invited me to read the book BILAL by Fabrizio Gatti, because he wanted to make a film out of it. I fell in love with the book and the project and I dreamed of searching for those amazing characters around Africa. Then the project was abandoned and just remained in a corner of my heart. Imagine how happy I was when INDIANA proposed me to do the casting for a SKY TV series inspired by the book of Gatti (with a beautiful script by Stefano Bises). When it’s meant to be! It was an exciting job, even if my research around Africa, given the times, was only virtual; together with my assistant Francesca della Rocca and with the help of Gianni Laricchiuta and Emanuela Marroni, we have seen an infinity of self-tapes coming from every part of the world. Filming is almost over. It was a huge production effort. Congratulations to all those who contributed to its realization, from the director Oliver Hirschbiegel to the producer Ferdinando Bonifazi, to all the producers of INDIANA and PANTALEON, to the crew and all the fantastic actors from Senegal, Nigeria, Congo, North Africa, France, England, Germany and of course Italy.

Le riprese sono quasi al termine. È stato uno sforzo produttivo enorme. Complimenti a tutti quelli che hanno contribuito alla sua realizzazione, dal regista Oliver Hirschbiegel al producer Ferdinando Bonifazi, a tutti i produttori dell’INDIANA e di PANTALEON, alla troupe e a tutti i fantastici attori dal Senegal, dalla Nigeria, dal Congo, dal Nordafrica, dalla Francia, dall’Inghilterra, dalla Germania e naturalmente dall’Italia.
